I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

  • Providence: I-95 North, at Exit 37 B/C/D interchange, various ramp closures as needed for steel placement, Sun., Mon., Tues., and Thurs. nights, 11 p.m. – 6 a.m. Follow signed detour.
  • Providence: I-95, from Exit 37A to Exit 39A, left lane closures for drainage work & steel placement, Sun., Mon., Tues., and Thurs. nights, 9 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Washington Bridge, East Providence/Providence

  • New Traffic Pattern: Bypass lanes for I-195 West traffic from East Providence to Providence are open. This temporary traffic pattern allows three lanes of travel eastbound and three lanes of travel westbound – all operating on the eastbound Washington Bridge. Expect delays.

Overnight

  • Hopkinton: I-95 South, from Exit 1 to the Connecticut line, alternating lane closures for road construction, Sun. – Fri. (June 21) nights, 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Other Limited Access Highway Restrictions

Reconstruction of Route 146 (Lincoln/North Smithfield)

  • North Smithfield: A lane split is in place on Rte. 146 North just before the Sayles Hill Rd. intersection. Rte. 146 NB through-traffic will continue straight over the new portion of the Sayles Hill Rd. flyover in the left lane. Sayles Hill Rd. traffic, local turns, and wide loads are directed to the right lane. Both lanes continue north through Rte. 146.

Route 37 Improvements (Cranston/Warwick)

  • Cranston: I-295 North, at Rte. 37 Exit 3A, a partial lane shift will take place in preparation for retaining wall work, Sun. night, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
  • Cranston: I-295 North, at Rte. 37 Exit 3A, left lane closure for roadway construction, Thurs. night, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
  • Cranston: Rte. 37 East, from Pontiac Ave. to I-95, alternating lane closures for bridge work, Fri. (June 21) – Sun. (June 24) nights, 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

6/10 Interchange Project (Providence)

  • Providence: Route. 10 South, from Westminster St. to Union Ave., alternating lane closures for paving, Sun. – Thurs. nights, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.
  • Providence: Off-alignment barrier installation & electrical work on the future Westminster St. on-and-off ramps to Rte. 10 will be taking place, Mon. – Fri., 6:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Metropolitan Providence

Henderson Bridge (East Providence, Providence)

  • East Providence: Henderson Pkwy. East, from the North Broadway Bridge to the roundabout & Waterfront Dr., from Waterman Ave. through the roundabout to Dexter St. on Massasoit Ave., alternating shoulder closures for paving preparation work, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Temporary Bridge Closure

  • Providence:RIDOT plans to close the West River St. Bridge to vehicular traffic for approximately four months, beginning in mid-summer. Prior to its full closure, temporary evening and overnight closures may be needed.

East Bay Bike Path Bridges

  • Barrington/Warren:Rte. 114, at the Barrington and Warren Bridges, the northbound boardwalks will remain open during demolition and construction of the bike path bridges, providing a continuous off-road path around the construction area.

Newport Pell Bridge Approaches - Phase II

  • Newport: Brief intermittent lane closures are expected on Rte. 138, JT Connell Hwy., Admiral Kalbfus Rd. & America’s Cup Ave. for striping work, Sun. – Thurs. nights, 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
  • Newport: Mobile operation on shoulders sitewide for electrical work, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Weekday

  • Little Compton: Alternating shoulder closures expected on the following roads for drainage work: South of Commons Rd. to Swamp Rd., Commons Rd. from Simmons Rd. to Meeting House/Simmons Rd. to South of Commons Rd., Simmons Rd. from Willow to East St., & Meeting House Rd. from Commons Rd. to Main Rd., Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

  • Glocester: Rte. 44 (Putnam Pk.), from Reservoir Rd. to the roundabout, right lane closure for paving & striping, Mon. – Fri., 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Lincoln: Rte. 246 (Old Louisquisset Pk.), from Rte. 116 to Rte. 123, alternating lane closures for milling, Mon. – Fri., 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

South County

  • North Kingstown: Rte. 138, at the ramps from Rte. 1 (Tower Hill Rd.), frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zones for drainage work behind barrier, Mon. – Fri., 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • North Kingstown/Narragansett: Rte. 1A, from Beach St. in North Kingstown to the Sprague Bridge in Narragansett, right shoulder closures for utility work, Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Richmond: Rte. 138 at Richmond Town House Rd. to Carolina Nooseneck Rd. intersection, alternating lane closures with intermittent road closure for curb & sidewalk installation, Mon. – Fri., 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Follow signed detour.

Temporary Road Closure

  • West Warwick: Effective Tues., May 28, Rte. 3 (Cowesett Ave.), from Main St. to Coit Ave., road closed for utility work, weekdays, 6 a.m.-5 p.m. through June 21. Local traffic and business access remains, with all others following a signed detour.

  • Warwick: Rte. 1 (Post Rd.) at Norwood Ave., alternating lane closures for electrical work, Thurs. & Fri., 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
