4 Qul Shareef (Char/Charo Qul) are short yet four powerful Surahs of the Holy Quran that begins with the word Qul (قل). Reciting the 4 Quls hold immense rewards and benefits despite being among theshortest surahsin the entire Quran making them relatively easy to memorize.
The Four Quls are known as the protecting Surahs. They are considered a shield for Muslims as they protect from black magic, evil eye, whispers of Shaitaan, and Shirk. Muslims should recite more often especially at night before going to bed as recommended by our Prophet (ﷺ) and in daily prayers as we will discuss in detail their benefits.

Qul is a Transliteration of the Arabic word (قل) which means “Say”. 4 refers to the number of Surahs in which all start with the same word Qul. Shareef means noblerighteous referring to the importance and highness of the 4 Surah
These surahs are among theshortest in the entire Quran making them relatively easy to memorize. They are between 4-6 Ayas. Below you can read the four Quls in English, Arabic & Transliteration.
These char Qul cover different perspectives and topics in the Quran that includes seeking refuge in Allah, fearing and considering Him as our Sustainer, asking Him for protection from evils, and many more as you will read:
1. Surah Al-Kafirun
The 1st Qul Surah is the 109th chapter of the Quran. It consists of a total of 6 Ayas. In these verses, Allah guides the believers about their behavior toward the nonbeliever and those who reject the religion, prophets, and angels.
2. Surah Al-Ikhlas
The 2nd Quls is Surah Al-Ikhlas which is the 112th chapter of the Quran. It is the shortest Surah consisting only of a total of 4 Ayas. In these verses, Allah claims the concept ofTauheedthat He is the one and only sustainer and Creator of this entire universe, and to Him, we all will return.
3. Surah Al-Falaq
The third Qul of the Quran isSurah Al-Falaq which is the second last surah of the Quran at number 113th consisting of only 5 Ayas. In these verses, Allah reminds us that He is the controller of the entire universe and to Him, humans shall ask for protection from the evils.
4. Surah An-Nas
The 4th Qul of the Quran isSurah An-Nas, it is also the last chapter of the Quran at 114th, consisting of 6 Ayas. In these verses, Allah affirms that He is the only God and king of mankind and that humans and other creatures need to seek refuge in Him from all evils and conspiracies.

Benefits of the 4 Quls
1. Protection from Shirk
Farwah bin Nawfal (RA) narrated that:
He came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allah, teach me something that I may say when I go to my bed.” So he said: “Recite: Say: ‘O you disbelievers’ for verily it is a disavowal of Shirk.” [Jami Al Tirmiz]
2. Equal to one-thirdof the Quran
The Prophet (ﷺ) said to his companions, “Is it difficult for any of you to recite one-third of the Qur’an in one night?” This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, “Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” Allah Apostle replied: ” Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.’ (Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1–to the End) is equal to one-third of the Quran.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
3. Protection from Black magic and Evil eye.
Surah Al-Falaq and Surah Al- Nas are all about asking Allah (SWT) for protection from Black magic and Evil eyes. Surah Falaq tells of seeking God’s Refuge From the Evil Of All Creation. And Surah Nas tells us to SeekAllah’s Refuge From the Evil Of the Conspiracies Of All Creation.
4. Healing from sickness
Whenever Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) became sick, he would recite (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An- Nas) and then blow his breath over his body. When he became seriously ill, I used to recite (these two Suras) and rub his hands over his body hoping for its blessings.[Sahih al-Bukhari]
5. It is Sunnah before sleep
Aisha reported: “The Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ), would get ready for sleep, he would blow into his hands, recite the two chapters of refuge (surah al-Falaq and surah an-Nas), and he would wipe his hands over his body.” [Sahih Bukhari]
Here, the passage declares the separation between belief and unbelief both in the past and the present, ending with a firm rejection of the disbelief in Allah and Muhammad, "to you your religion, and to me mine". Al-Kafirun is classified as a Meccan surah, meaning it's believed to have been revealed in Mecca.
This surah was among those to receive many different titles. It is a short declaration of tawhid, God's absolute oneness, consisting of four ayat. Al-Ikhlas means "the purity" or "the refining". It is disputed whether this is a Meccan or Medinan surah.
Al-Nas or Mankind (Arabic: ٱلنَّاس, romanized: an-nās) is the 114th and last chapter (sūrah) of the Qur'an. It is a short six-verse invocation. Sura 114 of the Quran. سُورَةُ النَّاسِ
) is considered spiritually beneficial in Islam. Some perceived benefits include: Spiritual Protection: These Surahs are believed to offer protection from various spiritual and worldly harms when recited sincerely.
4 Quls or the last 4 chapters of the Quran are the blessings of Allah (SWT) for every day and night protection from the evil eye and other creatures' evil. Our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advised us to recite these Surahs for several blessings of Allah (SAW).
The Four Quls are known as the protecting Surahs. Surah Al-Kafiroun and Al-Ikhlas protect from shirk. Surah Falaq and Nas protect us from Jinn, black magic, and the whispering of the shaitan.
Reciting them daily safeguards Muslims against black magic, evil eye, whispers of Shaitaan, and Shirk. The best time to recite them is at night before going to bed and during daily prayers (salah), as suggested by the Prophet (SAWS).
Recitation of this surah brings a reward equivalent to reciting one-third of the Quran. It is one of the most recited Surahs of Quran and Muslim all across the world memorize it as one of the first Surahs when memorizing passages from Noble Quran. The person who recites Surah Ikhlas regularly is considered as clean.
The 4 Quls are believed to offer protection from various forms of harm, including disbelief, evil forces, black magic, and negative energies. They are considered a source of spiritual defense.
The fourth Kalima, recited 100 times a day, will provide protection and have an immense reward (Bukhari). There is a tradition of reciting the Ayat-ul-Kursi (2:255) to invoke protection. There are several hadiths about the excellence of performing zikr in a congregation.
Fear your Lord, who created you from a single soul, and created from it its mate, and propagated from them many men and women. And revere God whom you ask about, and the parents. Surely, God is Watchful over you.
Holy Qur'an, certainly words from Allah (swt) contains four Surah/Chapter which starts with the word 'Inna' and chapters are the following: 1) Fath a.2) Nuh.3) Qad'r.4) Kausar.
There are certain verses of Quran which we recite for protection, like the last three Quls, Aayatul Kursi, surah Fatiha, etc. A woman experiencing her period is allowed to recite these verses, from memory, so long as it's done with the intention of dua.
Known as the heart of the Quran, it is recommended for us to recite Surah Yaseen every morning after Fajr. The Prophet PBUH said that the person who recited Surah Yaseen every day will be rewarded by Allah as though he or she had read the entire Quran 10 times!
Surah Ikhlas is recommended by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) for protection against harm, evil, evil eye, shaitan, etc. If it is recited along with Surah Falaq, Surah Na'as. It is recommended to recite it in the morning and at night before sleep.
It was narrated by anas that the Holy Prophet (s) said: "whoever reads Recites Surah Ikhlas 100,00 times would have bought himself from Allah, and a caller from Allah will announce in heaven and on earth: 'verily, so-and-so has been set free by Allah, so whoever owes him anything, let him claim it from Allah. '"
According to [Sahih Muslim 2691], "Whoever recites the holy text one hundred times in a single day will be blessed as if they had freed ten enslaved people, will earn one hundred credits and will have one hundred sins pardoned. "
Wazifas use the holiness and divine grace inherent in the verses. When chanted, the verses reiterate their message and in the process, emphasize the message to be passed. A usual purpose of creating and using Wazifas is to get something in particular: love, a happy marriage, or an answer to a prayer from Allah.
In case of fear from enemies, by reciting this surah an individual would find himself. under the protection of Allah and all the fear from enemies fades away. Recitation of surah Al-Kausar brings prosperity and wealth in one's life who previously has limited sources of earning.
